Three high school girls with different personalities, Hikaru Shidou, Umi Ryuuzaki, and Fuu Hououji were at Tokyo Tower when they heard a distress call and were transported to another world. They met a young-looking man, Guru Clef, who informed them that they were the legendary Magic Knights summoned by Princess Emeraude to save Cephiro from monsters and Lord Zagato. While Hikaru was thrilled to embark on this adventure, Umi and Fuu wanted to return home. However, Clef reminded them that they could not leave until Cephiro was safe, and Princess Emeraude was rescued. To achieve this goal, they needed to revive mysterious beings called Mashin, and acquire special armor and magic to defeat Lord Zagato. With the assistance of Presea and Mokona, Hikaru, Umi, and Fuu will prove themselves as true Magic Knights and save Cephiro.
