Maiko experiences a significant shift in her perspective at the age of 14, as she starts to visualize flowers rather than heads on individuals in love. Initially, she believes that she is unaffected by this unusual occurrence; however, during a stroll home with her childhood pal Ichi Terakawa, she becomes conscious of a flower-like image of herself in a reflection.
