The story is set in the future on the planet named Amoi which is controlled by a supercomputer named Jupiter. Among the mostly male human population, the light-haired elite class is allowed to temporarily keep the dark-haired "mongrels" as pets. One elite member, Iason, encounters a mongrel named Riki in the slums and decides to take him in. However, Iason keeps Riki longer than it is socially approved, and rumors abound about their possible relationship.

The main character is Loki, the Norse god of mischief. After causing boundless trouble in the land of the gods, Loki is banished to the world of humans and transformed into a little boy. To get home, he must collect "evil auras" (evil spirits), so he sets up Enjaku Detective Agency, specializing in strange and paranormal cases to make his search easier. For better or worse, he attracts Mayura Daidouji— a mystery-crazed teenage girl who quickly appoints herself a member of his detective agency. Soon more gods come down to the human world to kill Loki under Odin's order. Just why is Odin trying to kill him?

A girl who uses her bike to drive over his ass sorta helps him and gives him a handkerchief with a 10 yen coin in it (hence the the series' title) and ... Then 10 yen coin contains a spirit who says she will grant the boy's wish of wanting to be together with the girl but the spirit can only cast magic worth 10 yen.
