Shiori was once a guitarist in a light music club in high school. But her first live performance was dashed when her brother ran away from home with a lot of debt, to become a musician in Tokyo. A decade later, Shiori is now a high school teacher, leading a boring, uneventful life and paying off the debt… till she runs into the ghost of none other than a famous guitarist Jim-you-know-who. A story of a 27-year-old woman on her way to a music legend begins here.

Kamine Shuuta is a person who can see a person's heart (literally) whether its angry, wounded, broken, guarded, troubled etc... and because of this he's at his wits end, because he can't do anything about it. Tokisaka Hibiki is a saxophonist in the music club. Shuuta first listens to his saxophone on the terrace and wanted to ask something but Shuuta tells him to come to his performance later in the ongoing school festival. After seeing Hibiki's performance he see the notes of music as hands which can heal the wounded, tend the broken, break the shielded hearts in other words "seize the soul" of a person. After the performance Shuuta asks Hibiki "isn't there a person to whom your sound doesn't reach" when asked how he knew it Shuuta says although his sounds can seize hearts of others and move them but his own heart is guarded and is unmoved and troubled. Hibiki then takes Shuuta to his childhood friend Moko (Takizawa Momoko) who loved singing but became mute due to some reason. Shuuta sees her as a Sea of depression and despair Thus begins their journey to heal the heart with music.

Present day, present time. For some reason, rare newborns get swapped with the newborns from another world. They have the features of legendary creatures(like dwarves, oni, harpies etc), however, they lack the abilities of their legendary predeccesors. Our heroine, an elf girl Kazamori suffered through her childhood because other kids expected her to wield magic like a true elf. She tries to uphold her "magic user" image in high school but the person who finds out her secret is an ordinary human who practices magic-like science.

As a group of magical girls fight a witch, a delinquent suddenly appears out of the blue! Afterwards, their stories begin to intersect in a bizarre way... The plotline of Madoka Magica, with elements of a bizarre adventure!
